About 158 West

158 West is a software company built at the intersection of intelligence, memory, evidence, and creative work.

21° N · 158° W. Built on Oahu. Designed for work that travels far beyond it.

Point of origin

Why 158 West?

158° West runs through Oahu.

It is where these products were conceived, built, tested, and refined. Navigation begins with knowing where you are. Discovery begins with understanding what you already have.

158 West is both a coordinate and a point of origin: a software company built from real work, real problems, and the belief that technology should make human experience more useful—not replace it.

Geography

Built in Hawaii

The Hawaii connection is geographic and intellectual—not touristic. Distance from the usual software centers shaped a preference for durable systems, clear provenance, and tools that earn their place in real workflows rather than demo theaters.

Built on Oahu. Designed for work that travels far beyond it.

Ecosystem

What connects the products

Forgios, Myoshi, Andosho, and MoodyBot remain separate customer-facing products. What they share is a philosophy: discovery before generation, memory with boundaries, evidence that survives summarization, and human judgment in the loop.

Approved context can move between products through explicit handoffs. Shared does not mean unrestricted. Each product keeps its own domain, permissions, and memory boundaries.

Boundaries

What the company is not

158 West is not a generic AI agency, prompt library, content mill, or single all-purpose assistant. It builds focused products for distinct kinds of work.

Product family

Four systems. One belief.

The most valuable information usually already exists. Each product helps uncover a different kind of intelligence and turn it into something useful.

Company principles

How decisions get made.

01

Context before output

Understand what already exists before generating more material.
02

Evidence before confidence

Keep conclusions attached to sources, uncertainty, and provenance.
03

Permission before sharing

Nothing moves between products silently. Handoffs require approval.
04

Memory with boundaries

Persistent context is approved, scoped, reversible, and separated by purpose.
05

Human judgment before automation

Software surfaces options and patterns. People decide what matters.
06

Useful work before novelty

Real campaigns, documents, histories, and conversations are the test.

Founder

Matt Canham

Matt Canham has worked in places most software founders never see. 158 West grew from problems he encountered repeatedly: important context gets lost, useful experience becomes difficult to retrieve, and most software forgets the person using it.
